Upstate Niagara Driver Honored for Humanitarian Efforts

ARLINGTON, VA – The National Private Truck Council (NPTC) awarded Kevin Weaver, a driver with the Upstate Niagara Cooperative who operates out of Buffalo, NY with its Humanitarian Award during the group’s Annual Education Management Conference and Exhibition held April 29 – May 1, 2012 in Cincinnati, OH.

The award recognizes individuals who share an extraordinary commitment to helping others. Weaver, who has been employed by Upstate Niagara Cooperative since June 1996, has distinguished himself as a hard-working, conscientious employee that delivers exceptional customer service with an excellent track record. He has not experienced a chargeable accident since October 2006 and has recorded 300,000 accident-free miles since joining the dairy cooperative.

He began doing mission work in 2009 when he joined a team that went on two trips to Honduras to build churches. On the second trip, he was re-routed to Miami because of the political instability in Honduras. That didn’t stop Kevin, as he helped rebuild a Methodist church in Miami that Hondurans attend. He has been back to that church on three separate occasions as a lay minister. During his last trip, he helped plan and lead another trip to New Orleans to assist with rebuilding following Hurricane Katrina.
