NPTC’s 2009 Annual Conference Packs Tremendous Value
Arlington, VA – The National Private Truck Council’s 2009 Annual Education Management Conference and Exhibition, to be held May 3-5, 2009 in Nashville, promises to deliver valuable information, education, insights and exceptional value.
“There is little doubt that we are entering uncharted economic and business waters,” said Ralph Benson, President of Sentinel Transportation and Chairman of the NPTC Conference Planning Committee. “Private fleet professionals must call upon all resources in their search for new ideas and programs that deliver the greatest value to their fleet operations.”
“In this demanding climate, and with those expectations in mind, NPTC has assembled a power-packed agenda of dynamic speakers and an unparalleled lineup of hard-hitting educational workshops.”
Headlining this year’s Conference is a professional and stimulating lineup of keynote speakers including:
- Major General Keith Thurgood, CTP, Commanding General of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service and former Assistant Division Commander of the 95th Division in Oklahoma City, Okla., will kick off the conference with remarks that will honor the latest graduates of the Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) program. In 2006, he began a year-long deployment to Kuwait and Iraq where he oversaw logistics operations and shipments of everything from “tanks to Chapstick.”
- Dan Baker, back by popular demand to welcome the 2009 Driver Hall of Fame inductees, Baker is a nationally known speaker, teacher, and consultant to the trucking industry. He travels extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada, working with more than 300 trucking companies of all sizes and types. He will speaking at the luncheon honoring four new inductees into the NPTC Driver Hall of Fame.
- Chris Sultemeier, Senior Vice President of Corporate Transportation Services for Wal-Mart, will be capping the meeting with a presentation about how his company is positioning itself to respond to the numerous challenges facing our market today and how the private fleet is an essential element of the company’s future.
New to the program this year are two general sessions focusing on fuel management strategies. In addition, the Annual Conference Planning Committee, which is comprised of fleet and allied members, has developed a slate of 22 educational workshops to be presented by the private fleet community’s most experienced and professional practitioners. “These sessions provide illuminating insights and best practices that will help demystify some of the critical issues and challenges facing today’s private fleet executives,” according to Benson.
In addition, the NPTC 2009 Exhibition will feature an extensive showcase of fleet products and services from leading industry suppliers featuring the latest in product development and state-of-the-art technology for today’s demanding fleet operations.
Finally, the NPTC affords ample networking opportunities, allowing attendees to establish and nurture relationships that provide critical insights and lasting value throughout the course of the year.
Founded in 1939, the National Private Truck Council is the only national trade association exclusively representing the interests of the private truck industry and corporate/business private truck fleet management.
