Kristen Todd and Serena Porter Promoted to New Roles at NPTC

NPTC President and CEO Gary Petty and George Mundell, Executive Vice President and COO, have announced that Kristen Todd is the new Director, Education and Certification and that Serena Porter is the new Director, Membership and Marketing.

Kristen graduated from the University of South Florida in 1996 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications – Broadcast Journalism and a minor in International Studies.  Before joining NPTC in 2005, she worked as a television news writer and producer for ABC News and Fox News. Kristen has worked remotely for NPTC since 2009 and is based in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In her spare time, she is also a freelance writer, a self-described Anglophile, and a cat wrangler both at home and with local cat rescues.

Serena graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following graduation, she moved to the DC area and began working for NPTC in 2008. Last year in her role as NPTC’s Membership Manager, Serena helped to launch the company’s new website and account management system. She enjoys working with members and managing conference exhibits. Now working remotely from Alabama, Serena is an active volunteer at her church and in her community. She enjoys traveling with her husband, two school-aged children, and Boykin spaniel.

In making the announcement Petty stated, “From the Board and membership perspective, Kristen Todd and Serena Porter’s knowledge, talent, and strong professional commitment to the Council are invaluable assets. We are proud to count them both as integral members of the NPTC team.”
