NPTC Honors 49 Certified Transportation Professionals (CTPs)
Arlington, VA – Forty-nine transportation professionals achieved the prestigious designation of Certified Transportation Professional® (CTP) by the NPTC Institute, the educational and professional certification arm of the National Private Truck Council (NPTC). The graduates were honored during a ceremony at the Annual Education Management Conference and Exhibition held April 17-19, 2011 in Cincinnati, OH.
Since the CTP designation was first introduced in 1993, nearly 800 fleet and transportation professionals have earned the right to add CTP after their name. CTPs are raising industry standards, and in turn, increasing the respect and prestige of the fleet and transportation profession.
“These new Certified Transportation Professionals have demonstrated the knowledge and ability to understand complex operational and regulatory issues, identify and evaluate potential costs and savings, and develop systems and practices that best meet their company’s transportation needs and objectives,” said Bedford Monday, CTP, Chair of the NPTC Institute Board of Governors that oversees the program.
“The CTP designation is a benchmark of excellence earned by a special few, but available to any fleet or transportation specialist will to make the necessary commitment of dedicated effort.”
Each year, Fleet Owner magazine sponsors the CTP Top Graduate Award. This year’s Top Graduate is Troy Stevenson, CTP, Director of Logistics, GreenLine Foods, Inc. He is responsible for the private fleet operations of GreenLine Logistics, Inc. based in Perrysburg, OH. GreenLine operates a fleet of more than 60 power units in 6 locations operating in the U.S. and Canada, distributing more than 1,400 shipments weekly of fresh packed produce items in their private fleet operation.
Prior to GreenLine Foods, Inc., Troy was with Owens Corning and Pilkington North America and has been in the transportation industry for more than 17 years. His experience have been in managing for-hire fleet operations, private fleet operations, 3rd party outsourced fleets and contract carrier procurement.
